Gastronomic Trip Around Ibiza

Take note of this wonderful selection by our Executive Chef.

September 20, 2018

Most of us in Ibiza won’t share too much about our favorite spots hoping they won’t lose their charm. However, this time we won’t only share but we’re asking the king of foodies: our Executive Chef, Samuel G. Galdón. We wanted him to tell us where he’d take us to breakfast, lunch, sunset cocktail, dinner and drinks. Sometimes he was indecisive, others he didn’t doubt at all. We’re lucky to live on an island with so many special venues offering tempting gastronomic experiences.

So to begin the day, Samuel takes us to Cappuccino Marina Ibiza. Not only does it have stunning views of Dalt Vila, it also offers great quality in its healthy and varied breakfast. Coffee is heavenly, its bakery is homemade and they have a long list of dishes featuring organic eggs. Omelet of three egg whites with feta, rocket and sun-dried tomatoes, anyone? Cappuccino is one of those places where you’ll want to extend breakfast until lunchtime and where the attentive waiters understand the balance between care and space.

More breathtaking vistas at lunchtime as Samuel recommends fabulous S’Illa des Bosc in Platges del Comte. Chef Miguel Cantero’s team has marvelous artistry and also incredible fresh produce. This is where you’ll find the best red prawns from Ibiza and their flavorsome creamy rice with lobster. Just a step away from the pristine waters, you’ll definitely love this Mediterranean experience.

Where would Samuel take us for cocktails at sunset? It has to be Amante. This romantic beach restaurant is set in the cliffs of Sol den Serra, surrounded by greenery. Picture yourself sipping a Thai Martini (gin, lemon grass, green apple juice and fresh ginger) at sunset.

Samuel will have to take us out to dinner twice, once to Heart and another one to Can Domo. Why Heart? It has all the ingredients for an unforgettable dinner. It’s a mind-blowing live dinner experience with a wonderful gastronomic proposal by Albert Adrià. It really is a must. And what has Can Domo to offer? Simply, the best cuisine on the island, magnificently executed by Chef Pau Barba. Here one can experience a peaceful but full of emotion gourmet dinner.

We end the day once again on an open-air terrace with the wonderful and light Mediterranean breeze and overlooking Ibiza bay and Dalt Vila. We’re going for drinks to Lío. After the magic of it’s cabaret show, we let go and dance to the sexy grooves by Idris Elba, Cathy Guetta and more.
